Sophie Pereira

Co-President / email.rice.edu

Sophie is a senior from Miami, Florida at Brown College majoring in Political Science and minoring in both Jewish Studies and Politics, Law, and Social Thought. As a student on a pre-law track, Sophie is an active member of the Baker Institute Student Forum, the Public Policy Journal, and the Pre-Law Society. She has experience in the legal field, including an internship with Taylor, Espino, Vega, and Touron, P.A. where she participated in several construction law proceedings and mediations. Sophie has experience working in both the county and federal public service sectors. She interned with Miami-Dade County Commissioner Linda Bell and with the Miami Office of the Chief Counsel for the United States Department of Homeland Security. In her free time, Sophie works with Rice University's Admissions Office giving tours around campus, plays volleyball for Brown College, and catches up on her favorite Netflix shows.

Anika Jain

Anika is a Senior at McMurtry College pursuing majors in Economics and Social Policy Analysis. She would like to pursue a career relevant to law and policy and hopes the Pre-Law Society is helpful for Rice pre-laws to meet peers not only with similar interests, but also different perspectives. She enjoys cooking, watching TV, and trying new fitness classes. Feel free to reach out to her about anything, from course selection to restaurant recommendations.

Kavya Sahni

Kavya is a sophomore at Will Rice College, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Jewish Studies. She spends her free time interviewing students and writing and editing articles as Assistant Features Editor of the Rice Thresher, working on novels, and—in pre-pandemic times—watching plays and attending concerts in Houston. She grew up in New Delhi, India, and can answer questions about being on the pre-law track as an international student. Sarah Park

Sarah is a sophomore at Will Rice, majoring in Linguistics and Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, considering a minor in Entrepreneurship. Having switched from pre-med, she can answer your questions about why she chose to be pre-law instead of pursuing a different career and how her academic path has changed. Outside of the Pre-Law Society, she is a STRIVE Liaison and RHA, loves visiting museums, and enjoys trying different restaurants with friends. Dania Alqarawi

Dania is a sophomore at Lovett, majoring in Social Policy Analysis and considering a minor in Business. She spends her free time watching sitcoms, discussing politics, spending time with her friends, and working with Rice Young Democrats. Isaiah Hwang

Isaiah is a sophomore at Wiess College studying Kinesiology Health Sciences, Managerial Studies with a minor in Business. Coming in as a Pre-Med student, he eventually realized that the legal field was his true passion both intellectually and career-wise. He plans to attend law school after graduation, and is interested in both medical and corporate law. When not involved in the Pre-Law Society, he participates in Rice’s Mock Trial club and is involved with the Campanile Orchestra. In his free time, Isaiah enjoys spending time with friends, exercising, and watching entertaining TV shows (such as Suits). Annabel Wei

Annabel is a junior at Baker College, majoring in English and minoring in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She is passionate about the legal field, and intends to attend law school after graduation.
